ABOUT PSYCHOTHERAPY
Perhaps you're down or anxious - maybe you're unsure about the future of a relationship, or just feel that you aren't living the life you were meant to lead. Whatever your needs may be, I am here to offer support. Psychotherapy is a process of growth and self-discovery, and together we will uncover what, from your present or past life, is contributing to your difficulties and help you overcome them to experience more freedom in life.
ABOUT ME
I am a French American licensed psychotherapist with post graduate training in psychoanalysis. I am happy to hold sessions in either language.
I hold an MBA from The Sorbonne and an MSW from Columbia University. I worked in the business world before changing careers and becoming a psychotherapist. I therefore have a good understanding of the pressures of the business workplace, as well as what it takes to make a significant career change.
Over the last 24 years, I have worked in Domestic Violence agencies, and in high schools with teenagers around relationship issues in particular, as well as with couples and individuals in my private practice.
I truly believe that finding the right therapist is an essential part of what makes therapy successful. You need to feel safe and connected before you can share. I usually suggest meeting a couple of times in consultation so that I may see whether I can help you and so that you may see whether you feel helped by me.
The consultation process involves getting a sense of your current difficulties; if the approaches I offer seem like they might work for you; how often it would be best to meet; and if additional referrals such as a medication consultation, an internist, nutritionist, or a skills group seem appropriate.
I offer a warm, interactive and safe environment where we can take the time to examine what in your life is holding you back, weighing you down or leaving you feeling hopeless, stuck or overwhelmed.
APPOINTMENTS,  FEES AND INSURANCE
Sessions are usually 45 minutes for individual appointments and 1 hour for couples.
It has been my experience that people generally prefer the regularity of their own appointment times, and that a reliable schedule is an important part of what makes therapy a supportive and helpful resource. I try to reschedule regular appointments that patients cannot attend, if given sufficient notice, but patients are responsible for missed sessions or last minute cancelations.

Please contact me for a 15 minute FREE phone consultation, or to make an appointment for an in person consultation.
My fee ranges from $250-$275.
If you request a reduced fee, then that discussion would be part of the consultation.

I currently participate in Cigna insurance. For all other insurance companies, I would be happy to provide you with all the necessary paperwork that you may submit to your insurance company for out of network benefits, and am happy to explain the process.
